Kept by the same hands since 1962. Sixteen rooms under the eaves, a soapstone hearth in the sitting room, and a west window that holds the summit line from breakfast to dusk.
No. 02 · The rooms
Sixteen rooms in the old station house and its 1974 annexe. Timber floors, wool throws in unbleached grey, a jug of hot water at the door in the morning. Rates are held on the residence-club tiers; the house replies with the current arrangement on enquiry.
Room 01 / West eaves
Two rooms under the eaves with a long west window onto the summit line. A soapstone hearth, wool throws in unbleached grey, a reading bench built into the dormer.

Room 07 / North corner
A timber-floored corner room with twin beds and a slate washstand. Morning light comes in over the birch line and the coffee tray arrives at seven.

A room over the four o'clock counter, where waffles come off the iron with sour cream and cloudberry, and slow coffee from single Dovre farms is poured by the cup until the light goes.

No. 04 · The kitchen
Breakfast is laid on soapstone at half past seven, cured fish from the coast, brown cheese, crispbread from the Dombås mill, cloudberry preserve, hot porridge and a jug of milk from the farm at Fokstua. Guests sit as they arrive; there is no hurry.
The Storskrymten Counter opens at four. Waffles come off the iron with sour cream and cloudberry; slow coffee from single Dovre farms is poured by the cup until the light goes. Tea is set at half past four for those who prefer it.
A single seating at eight, seven nights a week. What is written on the board is what is cooked, smokehouse tasting of the fjord catch, mountain lamb from Oppdal, a whole trout from the river below the station, and always a dessert of cloudberry with warm cream.
No. 05 · Residents only
A small residents' room, panelled in carved oak, kept for guests of the house. Four tables, a single hearth, and the same quiet as the sitting room next door.
Entry is 18 and over. Guests who look under twenty-five will be asked for identification at the door.

Arrangement I
Two weeks in late July when the cloudberry comes in from the heath. Three nights, the fjord-larder breakfast, one supper at the chef's table, a walk on the birch line with the head keeper. Rates on the residence-club tier by arrangement.

Arrangement II
Four nights through the shoulder weeks, the seawater pool held at temperature above the valley, the sauna raft at the birch line, the cold-plunge ladder into the mountain water. Rates on the residence-club tier by arrangement.

Arrangement III
Seven nights across the deep-winter weeks. The house is kept to twenty rooms and closed to passing trade; a fire in each grate, the summit line white to the ridge, supper each night at eight. Held on the tier for winter residents.

No. 07 · The almanac
A guided evening walk from the station across the Fokstumyra marsh with the head keeper, musk-ox country, wader birds, and a return to a late waffle service at seven.
A single supper at eight in the old smokehouse behind the annexe, cured and warm-smoked trout from the river, mountain lamb, cloudberry with warm cream. Ten seats, held by the desk.
An hour in the sitting room with the house keeper, the field record open on the soapstone, sixty-four winters of weather, guests and repairs, read aloud in short pieces. Followed by supper.
No. 08 · Arrival
The station sits above the glacier valley on the old Dovre road, thirteen minutes from Dombås by mountain track and a further hour on the coastal train from Trondheim. The Oslo line stops at Dombås; we meet the four o'clock arrival at the platform.
